The SUAD Device for Snoring
What is it?
The SUAD device is a CUSTOM dental sleep appliance developed for the treatment of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea. It is a more comfortable alternative to CPAP therapy. It is worn while sleeping and effectively reduces snoring by positioning the lower jaw forward, thus allowing the tissues at the back of the throat to relax. This ensures that the tongue does not collapse and block the airway.
HOW CAN I GET ONE?
The SUAD device can only be provided by a trained practitioner. It requires 3 short visits over a 2-3 week period.
A comprehensive evaluation with your specialist is the initial step. You will discuss your health, sleeping habits, and concerns. If you are a candidate, impressions of your teeth will be taken as well as a bite registration to carefully determine where the ideal position of your jaw should be.
The completed SUAD device will be delivered and fitted with complete and thorough instruction on the care and maintenance.
A follow up visit is necessary to assess your results and make adjustments for your comfort.
